inclusive : media and designCapScribe is a free Mac-based(Duo Core 2 Intel machines and greater)video editor for captioning and description. CapScribe will be ready for downloading this coming Monday, September 6.
You'll be able to use CapScribe on your Mac to create captions for Quicktime, YouTube, and Flash videos. CapScribe also offers a way to create video description.
If you haven't already, email us for a link and password to access CapScribe. We'll get back to you by Monday, September 6th.
Charles Silverman has been developing CapScribe for 8 years. While versions of the software have been available for download in the past, it's been about a year since CapScribe has been made available. We're looking forward to reconnecting with previous users and meeting new users.
Our plans are to fund continued free dissemination and development of CapScribe by selling a special CS-Pro annual subscription bundle. The bundle will come with add-ons modules, which are basically small helper apps that bring additional functionality to CapScribe. Subscribers will also receive a set of support tickets – we'll offer trouble-shooting support via email or phone for issues or questions you may have.
More information about the CS-Pro Bundle will be posted in the next few days.
We also hope that some of you will use our web captioning and descriptive video services when you have too much to do and too little time to get the work done.
The CapScribe project is our way of contributing toward getting all those videos on the web captioned and described already. Thanks for all your efforts and enthusiasm!
